What We Offer
It is widely recognised that there are huge physical and social benefits associated with participating in gymnastics activities, including general fitness and physical and mental wellbeing plus the development of coordination skills and building confidence.
Recreational – open to all
Our recreational classes are for children of school age and above and are suitable for all abilities. They are designed to challenge each child on a variety of apparatus including floor, fast track, vault, beam, bars and trampoline. Children are encouraged to develop at their own pace by our enthusiastic, qualified coaches.
The classes are kept to a manageable size and where appropriate are divided into smaller ability groups. Each week the participants work on learning new skills on a variety of apparatus. We use different set ups and activities designed to help them towards achieving the core gymnastic skills being taught.

Adult Gymnastics – open to all aged 16+
This is a very popular class within the CoGGC gymnastics programme. Our adult sessions give former gymnasts and complete beginners the chance to have fun, improve fitness and participate in safe and appropriate gymnastic activities.

Men’s and Women’s Artistic – assessment required
Artistic Gymnastics remains one of the biggest crowd pleasers and most watched sports at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. Its popularity amongst children of all ages lies in its ability to provide constant challenge whilst developing co-ordination, amplitude and courage.
CoGGC’s hugely successful artistic programme is one of the best in Scotland and our gymnasts participate in local competitions and also Scottish, British and international events.
Women’s Artistic gymnasts work on Vault, Asymmetric Bars, Beam and Floor.
Men’s Artistic gymnasts work on Floor, Pommel, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars & High Bar
We also have high quality rebound apparatus that is used to develop gymnastic skills.

Acrobatic – assessment required
Acrobatic Gymnastics (Acro) requires acrobatic skills, strength, balance and expressive movement. Gymnasts work in pairs or groups and perform choreographed routines to music on a 12m x 12m sprung floor.
Acro is both physically and psychologically demanding and involves gymnasts working closely together. Partnerships build up trust and responsibility for each other and develop a variety of skills requiring balance and dynamic qualities.
Disability – Men’s & Women’s Artistic (assessment required), Rhythmic (assessment required) and ASN Child with adult (open to all)
Disability gymnastics offers the participants challenges, fun, excitement and the opportunity to enter competitions (Artistic & Rhythmic) if they have the aptitude. CoGGC offers sessions for people of all ability levels to enjoy gymnastics ranging from ASN pay as you go classes (where participants are accompanied by an adult) to performance level competition groups.
CoGGC has an incredibly strong competitive section for gymnasts with a disability. Our gymnasts participate in local competitions and also Scottish, British and international competitions. Some of our para gymnasts have competed in international events in Helsinki (2025) and Leipzig (2026). They were also invited to participate in a trial event at the 2026 British Championships in Liverpool.
Skill development in disability gymnastics is adapted to meet the needs of each gymnast. Our skilled coaches encourage and enable gymnasts with a disability to achieve their full potential. We believe in focusing on what each individual can do, not on what they cannot do.
